Why Atlanta African-American Men's Therapy.

Therapy, life coaching, and counseling have taken on a new face and it looks like yours and mine. Traditional methods and ways of approaching counseling still have their place but in today's social, political, and economic climate, change is past due. AAAMT exists to meet the therapeutic needs of all men but also takes into consideration the differing needs of those belonging to Generation X and Millennials.

Cultural transmission i.e. the passing on of values, appropriate behavior, and societal norms has in times past been shaped mainly by one's family but many newly emerging factors such as the heavy influence of Pop Culture, mass marketing, and social media have forever changed this dynamic. All of these aspects of influence have to be taken into consideration while providing counsel and as with every generation past, both Gen X'ers and Millennials face challenges that are unique to them. Our therapist, Jon A. Parker, having been born on the cusp of both generations has special insight into these two groups, especially in regards to their physical, mental health, and spiritual needs.

AAAMT specializes in issues that affect the newly developing Black Middle Class/Young Black Professionals, as well as College aged and High School students.
